Pump did not shut off after I used it. I cut power and then turned it back on and it shut off. I tried to adjust pressure switch but not much luck. Low pressure turn on is not right either. Does not turn on at high enough pressure.

I adjusted high and low pressure some months ago and it was perfect. On at 30 psi and off at 50 psi.

Do I just need a new pressure switch?

Explain some things...

"pump did not turn off after you used it" Do you manually turn it on?

"does not turn on at high enough pressure" Does this mean it's turning on at a low pressure?

Have you checked your pressure gauge, take the pressure gauge off and clean out the tubing. Or buy a new pressure gauge.

I had a similar problem over the week-end when opening out cottage . I took a piece of emery cloth and cleaned off the points of the pressure shut-off then it worked properly

Pump was pumping water when I was using it. It is set to go on with a pressure switch when pressure is below 30 PSI. Pump cuts off when pressure reaches 50 PSI. The pressure was going over 50 PSI but the pump would not cut off even after I stopped watering. Pump operates automatically with the pressure switch; at least when it's operating right.

Yes, it's turning on at about 20 PSI.

The pressure switch still could have been obstructed. Sometimes the little hole going up into the switch itself gets clogged up. Thanks for letting us know what fixed it!
