I currently remodeling my bathroom using a Swanstone shower base and wall and trim kit. Everything was going fine until my contractor installed the trim kit. He followed the instructions and material provided by Swanstone, bracing the trim overnight. He took off the braces in the morning and the trim did not adhere the the Swamstone walls. He called the company and they said they never heard of this happening before and were going to have their engineers look into it. The adhesive they sent seemed to be pretty much like liquid nails. No problems with it on the wall panels to the green board only the trim kit. Any thoughts? I was thinking of using Gorilla glue!...Thanks..Dave

Since we do not know what was sent to be used we can't know what went wrong.

I would wait for the reply from the Mfg. Sounds like the adheasive was defective.

The finished side of the material may have a mold release or some other contaminant on it. It may require cleaning with say alcohol or some other solvent prior to using the glue. Or, it might require a light sanding to break the surface gloss for good adhesion. Double-check the install instructions to see if a step was left out.

It could also be just that the glue is defective. Or, it may have temperature requirements, and it was not installed in the correct temperature range, either too cold or too hot. There may be a timeframe, and the stuff was installed too soon - some require you to let it get tacky first, or too late (it might have skinned over prior to getting it installed).
