Rewire Zoeller M53

I have a couple of old Zoeller M53's that have bad swithces (I can by pass the switch & they run fine). Does anyone see a problem with just rewiring to by pass the switch & use a piggy back float switch? I just hate to throw them out & would rather not spend the money to keep replacing the integrated switch on the pump. These thing seem to run forever, just a problem with the switch.

Sure just re-wire it.
