How do you remove the waxy sticky greasy goop (I'm assuming it was part of the wax ring on the bottom of my toilet) from carpet? During the demolition of our bathroom "someone" rested the toilet on a drop sheet that was then flipped over onto the carpet. I would love to know the magic trick for getting out of this debacle.
I seem to have a lot of carpet issues...

You can try putting ice in a plastic bag on it to "freeze" the surface wax, and scrape all that you can off carefully with a table knife.
Then, use an iron over a clean cloth or paper towels to try to melt and iron up the rest.
This works for candle wax, and it might for a toilet wax ring, too.
Let us know if it worked.
Good LucK!

When you get that toilet wax on the bath floor, the best thing I found to remove it is a rough dry towel. A wet towel is completely useless. I'd try using clean, dry rags or paper towels and see if it comes off that way.

Get up all you can in your usual method. Place a brown paper bag over the spot and heat the area (under the bag) with an iron on low setting to absorb as much of the wax into the paper as possible. There is a new item I saw today on one of the morning shows... might of been the Today show that they used to get a red wine stain out of carpet... this "might" be helpful to get the rest of the stain and stuff out but the paper bag & iron trick is supposed work.
