I just moved into an older home, and in one bathroom there is an old shower head I would like to replace. Normally not a problem, but with this one, it seems that the shower head and the pipe are one piece. Is this possible? This is one of the older types with the pivot ball at the base of the shower head to let the head move around a little.

Not sure is anyone makes an adapter, but probably the easiest thing to do is unscrew the whole arm from the wall and replace it with a more standard one, then you have a nearly unlimited choice.

...And don't forget to use teflon tape on the new shower arm and shower head. Also, wrap the new shower arm with a rag so you won't chew it up with the channel locks you will be using to install it.
