Air chamber neccessary?

I have torn out the vanity and am going to replace it with a pedestal sink. The pipes are galvanized and both the hot and cold have an air chamber for water hammer. I am switching to copper, is the air chamber neccessary?

Not normally but if you are not having issues with water hammer and similar problems relating to high water pressure,,,,,,I would install the water lines without them.
