what is the best pex sysstem out there? i have used crimp rings and rehau sleeves. i like the rehau system any opinions or bad experiences?

Wirsbo Pex

wirsbo seems to be about the best you can get

most of the ring --crimp type pex is really nothing more

than what was used back with the polybuteline pipe in the 80s

and I think it will fail at the drimps eventually.....already has

I KNOW the wirsbo wont ever leank at the joints

and have seen a few people really pissed off at the crimp type

systems out there..

the only downside I have found with wirsbo is trying to make it look
pretty--- thats hard to do...

most installed pexe systems look absolutely terrible

but no one cares anymore what a

" sloppy --- assed job" they do anyway..

just get in and get out... get paid and move on
--and hope it all lasts a year

I silll prefer the copper over all of them

copper vs pex

I refer the copper too......but at 3.65 a pound

it has become an economic necessity to go to PEX

wether you like it or not.........

a 300 foot roll of 3/4 wirsbo probably costs

125.00-150...

300 foot of 3/4 L copper the price changes every day....

somewhere around $2.00 a foot?

have not priced it recently

I wish a stick of 3/4 L was $20.00

It is $35.00 here.

In Wi, it's about $25... I bought enough to plumb my house last month and only picked it up lastweekend. I bought it at $9.48 for 1/2 " "M" and $12.48 3/4", I used a 20% off coupon so I got it for about $7.5 and $10, respectively... When I went back, the 3/4th had jumped to $19 and the 1/2 was $14.... I almost flipped. I have all the fittings and pipe to do the job, but have considered using PEX, because of its ease and it's much less painful to have to repair a leaky joint (especially financially...:))

I can't believe the price... Makes conservation a bit more attractive now, doesn't it...

With scrap copper at $3, ...

...the jobsites around here are a lot cleaner than they used to be after the electrical contractors finish. You don't find even the odd half-inch piece of #12 lying around. Our company sparky does the odd job here and there on his own time, both commercial and residential, and manages to accumluate a couple hundred pounds of scrap every few months, and he's an honest guy.

We're putting up a small addition at work, and the supplier dropped off a pretty large bundle of copper pipe, from 1/2" up to 3" or 4". They put a guard on it until it was installed.

It doesn't suprise me at all given the price. I was just quoted somewhere around $700.00 for a 100' roll of 1"K. I can't imagine what the price of 3" would B.

rehau the best

I have been a plumber for a little over 10 years. I have been using pex pipe for almost 8. I think I used every pex system you can get in the usa. Rehau, wirsbo and zurn so far the top on my list. Rehau everloc system by far the best system. Only problem it costs the most. Tools, pipe, Fittings (Still cheeper than copper). But at the end each day for the last 4 years not one single leak or call back. I have done a few hundred repipes with rehau pex and even installed it for water service meter to house. The pipe size and fittings for rehau are also larger then wirsbo and zurn. Better flow more gpms. They have brass sleaves not plastic rings (wirsbo) or steel crimp rings (zurn).
Just to some it up for all you guys...My time is worth more then i can get:D. Leaks take time to repair and now there something that happend in the past

Nope.. Only been using zurn for about 6 months. The Boss man liked the cost. Like they always say cheeper is not better.
They now sell zurn pipe at lowes... here in california.
I'm going to stay with rahul. Will sell zurn tools or trade for rahul.
Anyone ??? Trade???

You might want to show this to your boss!

http://www.zurnclassaction.com/

Lowes is well known for selling defective products...
Three come to mind very easily...
Am. Std. Champion Toilets
Whirlpool Flameguard & Flamelock Gas Water Heaters
Zurn PEX
All 3 have class action lawsuits going...
Who knows what else is coming down the pike from our friends at big blue box?

One thing for sure! They are not rushing to get it off their shelves... In fact they are still pushing this garbage with a its good stuff smile!
