I live in Marion County Florida and was told that my vanities I purchased are not going to be passed thru plumbing code because they are drawers and not doors. Help me understand this. When you pull the top drawer open you can can see the plumbing, and contractor says inspector says code calls for ease of ability to see? Is this nuts.........or am I? Lowes, Home Depot, Ikea ect all sell these.

It's nuts. If he wants to see the hook up, leave the drawer out. Fla is an IPC state, your inspector is wrong

drawers

I think it was the plumber who made the statement, and he is thinking about HIS ease of connecting them. You can use any kind of cabinet you want to, but you will have to modify the drawers to fit around the plumbing.

Thanks Mr. Sawyer.....you have taken my parents discomfort level from 100 to 1. I personally think the plumber dosent like the drawer install as it is not a easy (for him) install and he didnt want to do 3 more bathrooms so he and the inspector were in conversation when i walked up. i asked how doors were more ease of ability than doors. i got the are you still talking lady look. I will try to find a reference online that i can print out now that I know this is not the case. Much appreciation is sent your way. imagine telling me drawers are not code.
