I am remodeling my shower stall. I took things down to studs and plywood.
Is there any need to cut out the subfloor and to put in a new p-trap?
The shower is 14 years old. How likely it is partially clogged?

Thanks

What material is the P-trap made of? If it's pvc or abs, it should be fine. If not, run a snake through it. If it's CI, it would depend on how old the structure is as the p-trap may not have been replaced 14-years ago. A CI one could last many decades...the operative word is could.

My drain is ABS (black plastic tube). It's fairly cheap and easy to change.
Cutting the prying the subfloor is the bulk of the work.
Is it worth the effort?

Thanks

If the drain is where you want it and properly vented, I see no big reason to change it.
