Folks,

This is kinda off topic.....but you guys have recommended other forums before.

I have a near new Whirlpool Cabrio that is not cycling properly. (Doesn't drain properly.) You can get it to cycle by moving the control knob to "Drain and spin".

I searched around this AM and haven't found a good forum for this type of problem.

Any tips are appreciated.

Crazy Question.

Did you read the manual ?

I have a new GE and when it gets hosed it is operator error on my part.

There is a hold mode built into the Fabric type. Have you tried different fabric settings and get the same result ?

The Whirlpool Cabrio has up to a 41 min Hold, and maybe you need to change that setting. I think the Heavy setting has the longest hold time.

You may want to unplug it from the wall for a while, to Reset the settings back to factory default.

Good Luck.

NOT a crazy question.

I did read the manual, HOWEVER, my manual is ultra-cryptic and not nearly as useful as the one you referenced. I will track down a better manual on the Whirlpool site. (Hopefully)

We have not tried various fabric settings. Will try. Will check the Hold setting.

Have tried the full power down trick several times. Doesn't seem to have an impact.

Thanks for the comments!

Maybe it's time to call a repairman that has the knowledge necessary to fix the machine without frying components? I don't know, I'm just saying.

The new ones use time for drain pump run time, so if the drain is restricted it could stop pumping before it is empty.

If it is in warranty then I would just call the man.
