So while reinstalling an old toilet, I screwed up bolting the tank to the bowl, so when I tried a trial flush...water went everywhere. I've figured out the proper way to put the bolts on, fortunately, but my concern is that I had not yet caulked around the toilet bowl on the floor, so water definitely got under there. Do I need to pull the toilet back off the floor, and give it time to dry out, or is it enough to let it dry as is for a couple more days before caulking? Would a source of heat, like a hairdryer, be helpful, or does that risk melting the wax ring?

thanks

Just don't caulk it for a few days and as long as the humidity in the room is not high it will dry on it's own.

Great, thanks. The bathroom has a ceiling heat lamp, which I've turned on. Should help speed things up. Humidity is generally pretty low too.

You'll likely be OK, but what will you do with all the money you save on buying a new wax ring? Pulling a toilet is not that difficult. It's your call, I just saying.
