I have a Whirlpool DP840SWSX0 Portable dishwasher which had started leaking at the connector (unicouple) recently. I noticed inside of the connector, there was a black rubber gasket that had come unseated. I tried to position it, but nothing would stop water from shooting everywhere when I turned on the sink. I know that I can buy a whole new hose assembly and that would solve the problem, but I think there might be an easier answer.

What is the inside of the connector supposed to look like? I have a rubber seal, but that is all that I have. Should there be more parts? It really seems like something is missing that should be making a tight seal with the faucet. I can provide picture if possible.

The only technical drawing that I have found for this dishwasher shows that the hose and connector are simply one piece and I have to buy a whole new hose assembly.

Even a picture might not tell us what the problem is or what kind of seal you need. We would probably have to see the connector AND the piece on the faucet spout.
