cracked toilet flange

I was putting new toilet and I cracked the flange. the pipe is on the bottum floor and is concreted into the floor under till. Does it screw in or glue in. does anyone have any suggestions on what to do??

We cannot tell you because we don't know what the flange, and pipe, material is. But if the flange broke, then it was because it was ready to, not because you installed the toilet.

What are the pipes made of? Is it a 4" or 3" drain line? Does the old flange attach to the outside or inside of the pipe?

From what I read, if you take a hacksaw and carefully cut through the flange to the pipe in a few places, you can peel the old one off and clean it up and glue in a new one.

That is what I do, but if not done properly, and carefully, you will damage the pipe and have to replace the riser.

they make an OATEY compression flange that will

simply slide down into that 4 inch pvc pipe......


all you got to do is break off the old flange and get it

flush with the floor then insert that new flange down into

the pipe and simply take an allen wrench and tighten it down


ALSO Lennox makes spanner repair flange parst that simply go underneath

either side of the flange that has been broken off.... they work great too...
