stinky water despite electrical anode

I have a Buderus ST 300 water heater, it has an electrical anode. Also have a Kenmore Ultrasoft 800. About 1 month ago, water started to have rotten-egg smell. I thought that electrical anodes should never have this problem. Any thoughts? Thank you!
