Moen 1225 cartridge

My husband installed a moen 1225 cartridge and now the water will not come on in the tub it's on every where else Also we could not get the holding pin back in could that be the problem This is an OLD tub and it took 2 days to get the old cartridge out
What should we do ? Please any suggestions

Call a plumber. Without the clip in place the water pressure could push the stem out causing a flood if no one is home at the time to turn the water off.
