Running 100 foot of new sewer pipe from where it exits my house to the city sewer line in the middle of the street.

I have heard two different versions of what the correct pitch was for proper drainage.

1 was the pitch should be no more than 1/4" per 10 foot of pipe...concept was the water should carry away the sewage, not out-run it from too much pitch.

2 was stated here on this forum in another thread stating that the pitch (for 45 foot in that post) should be NO LESS than 1/4" PER FOOT of pipe.

What is correct, and in particular, for the distance I need to travel.

THANKS A BUNCH in Advance. :)

anything will work

if you are going a long long way, 1/8 inch per foot

is gong to work...... best .

this is not an exact science.......

I would suggest you start from the main sewer
drain and run it up to the house from there....

as long as you arent literally flying downhill to the sewer
and the run is a gradual fall everything will flow fine.....

you have to work with what you got and i dont know how much

fall their is from the house to the sewer either...
