Kitchen sink installation and plumbing under sink?

It sounds like you added a deeper sink, which means the drain in the wall is now too high.
If you have a disposer, I imagine that the lower part will be underwater now. I like to cut into the wall and lower the plumbing there when a deep sink is installed.
As far as the faucet goes. Normally hot is to the left, cold on the right
And if the faucet handle goes front to back, Hot toward the wall, and Cold toward the child hanging onto the handle from the front.

Actually the sink holes are just in a different place and we tried to make a configuration that would allow drainage.
It is all hooked up now but two of the plastic slip joints are leaking, how can we get that to stop??

On the swivels, loosen everything up, and then tighten the swivel on the p-trap first. The vertical and the horizontal come next.

Basic fact. Unless pumped, water does not run uphill no matter what the source.
This is what you are shooting for. Hopefully the outlet on the tee is a little higher then the drain side of the p-trap.
You can go underwater if the sink is too low, and the water will drain, but it won't drain away as well as it should. Some water will always remain.
