It doesn't make sense about 3 electrical services. You can't run one pump with three electrical services and you can't put three pumps in one well.
With multiple users on a well, it's a good idea to have a water meter to each user, with operating and maintenance costs paid into an account in proportion to water usage. You can get rebuilt meters from USA Bluebook for less than $50 each.
A submersible pump will often produce more pressure than a water system can withstand, and should always have a relief valve that will discharge the full flow of the pump at a pressure that the system will withstand. They used to make, but I haven't seen lately, a pressure switch that would lock out and require manual reset if a set pressure was exceeded. You might want to add one to the system.
Sorry. I didnt exactly explain what I meant by the electrical service. As of right now, my well is connected to the breaker box in my house, and running on my electric bill, and the well is deeded only to me. There is really no legal contract in place other than a water useage agreement. As it was explained to me, this is no longer allowed with a shared well. The way it was explained to me, a shared well in my county now would have to be deeded as joint ownership, and connected to it's own electric meter, and the electric meter would have to be registered in all owners names. We do divide any maintenance and repairs equally, and each family pays me a small amount each month...usually around $25/month, which runs about on par with what the water bills run for people on the county water. I do deposit this money into a savings account just in case something major should happen, then I know that the money is there. Also, did not know about a relief valve. Mine does not have one. Because my tank is burried, all of my lines are underground between the well and the houses. The way it is set up, there is a valve manifold in the ground near the well, with 3 pieces of 4" pipe to the surface, and a shut off valve at the bottom of each pipe for each house. Is there somewhere in line that one could possibly be added? I would like to do this so that if something ever fails again like before, we wont be blowing off plumbing inside of the houses.
