In the basement I have a unused hot/cold shut off switch that was used for washer/dryer. Could I used hoses (washer hose?) to connect up and out of the house, then connect a shower valve to have an outdoor shower? I thought that might be a bit easier then plumbing it with the bends and twists in the wire.

Any outdoor shower will need draining during the Winter to prevent freezing.

If this was inspected, it would need piping to it. Will washer hoses carry water? Yes, though running pipes isn't going to be all that hard anyway.

Someone may say we are inconsistent.....but we cannot recommend running HOSES through the wall. WAY too unreliable. The plumbing code relative to gray water may make the outdoor shower too expensive an installation. And we notice you are in MA, where they apparently WILL toss you into the hoosegow for doing plumbing work without a license! We are glad to help you with instructions for how to do it right, but in MA you can't do it at all!
