Swanstone sinks - staining?

Hi all. We're considering replacing our porcelain sink with a Swanstone sink in "Tahiti Terra" color - a light beige sort of composite. I've read some comments online about staining with this material, and would like your feedback and experience with the Swanstone. Good idea for a kitchen sink?

Any concerns or advice about color choices?

I have a transolid solid surface K-sink and its the same color all the way through. My sink is white and to make it look literally like new after 12 years all I have to do is use a scotchbright scouring pad.

Your material is a "corian" type. The swanstone is the artificial granite. The surface is polished, but cannot be refreshed with the greenie pad like corian. Swanstone is touted to have better stain resistance than granite itself, but I don't have either to tell you personally about. I would read carefully all the swanstone literature about how to care for it and what to do about stains.

Yes, the Swanstone is matte finish, not polished. They talk about using an abrasive cleanser to rub out stains.

So I guess the question is - are they susceptible to staining? Are they high maintenance in that regard? I'd hate to dump coffee or blueberry pie or something like that into the sink and find I have to scrub it to get rid of the stain....

CLEANING INFORMATION
Clean your Swanstone sink by using
abrasive cleaners such as Comet, Ajax,
Bon Ami, Soft Scrub, etc. Use of a
Scotch-Brite pad, nylon scrub pad,
or Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is also
recommended. Food based stains can
be removed using a 50/50 bleach and
water solution and soaking for 15 minutes.
For rust or other mineral based stains,
products such as Rust-Out or Whink are
acceptable. To restore luster and extend
time between cleanings, Weiman’s Granite
Polish is recommended. Do not use SOS,
Brillo or other metal scouring pads.

I copied this directly from swanstone concerning the care of what they call their granite kitchen sink. Its actually 80% natural quartz.

water and a soft cloth, sponge or
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Non-abrasive
liquid cleaners and detergents can also
be used. Hard water, calcium and lime

after 20 minutes. To restore luster
and extend time between cleanings,
Weiman’s Granite Polish is recommended.
Staining liquids such as dyes and
vegetable juices should be rinsed off as
soon as possible. Do not use abrasive
cleaners, metal scouring pads, bleach
or alkali cleaners such as ammonia.

Exactly. That's why I'm worried. Hopefully someone who has used them for a while can comment on this.

If your looking at the solid surface swanstone sink it will clean just like my transolid solid surface kitchen sink. I have a white one and it looks like new after I clean it with a scotchbrite pad. You will not have a problem cleaning it no matter what color you pick.
