Question? Will a Energy efficient electric dryer cost more or less then a Gas dryer

A gas-fired dryer will generally be more expensive to purchase but less expensive to operate than an electric dryer.

What is the cost of kilowatt hour for your electricity? How much is a cubit foot of gas in your area?

This is information needed before anyone can answer your question.

If on propane, electricity usually wins and with longer life. And no gas to explode.

Unless you have really low electrical rates, gas will end up cheaper. Plus, a gas dryer typically has 20-25% more BTU available, so it also dries the clothes faster.

The only "energy" efficient dryer is a clothesline. Drying efficiency comes from the WASHER with a very high water extraction rate.

If the TVA supplies your electricity, it will be cheaper. Anywhere else it is not likely to be.
