How many of you use ballcocks with plastic shanks...i.e. regular 400A? How many use supply lines with plastic nut? Will you use a metal nut on a plastic ballcock shank?

I have ONLY used the "regular" 400A fill valve for over 40 years. I use the locknut that comes with the valve, so asking about a metal nut is irrelevent. I also use the regular Fluidmaster supply line with the plastic nut.

By metal nut, I did not mean the locknut, but a toilet supply line with a metal nut vs plastic.
I use the supplied 7/8" plastic nut that comes with the Fluidmaster too. But I don't think using a metal 7/8 would be a problem.

I prefer my all brass ballcocks.

The only "all brass" ones I know of ALL use a float and rod to control the water level.
