Can I update or replace this 20-year-old American Standard Shower/Tub Faucet?

See attached photos. This is the same faucet in our stand-up shower, jacuzzi tub, and shower/tub combo. I desperately want to rid our bathrooms of polished brass and replace with satin/brushed nickel.

Notice the screwholes at 10 and 2 o'clock.... can't seem to find anything that fits this!

Thanks in advance!

Newer valves are required to have pressure balance/scald protection so finding new trim to fit the old stuff is not so likely anymore.
Replacing the valve gets you any color/style you want.

Thanks so much. About how much to replace if we stay on the low end? I'm assuming plumber labor fees on top?

That is a loaded question.
Shower/Tub valves run between 80-1000+ dollars.
A couple hours of labor is likely and that price will vary greatly from one area to another.

It will also depend on whether you can open the wall behind the valve or have to make the hole bigger from the front. If from the front, they do make 'remodel' covers in various shapes and sizes to cover the larger hole. If you can get to it from behind, repairing drywall or plaster is easier than making the tiled surface hole bigger.
