salt for Aquafine Aqua 2 water softener

My son and family (total of 5) have moved into a new house with an Aquafine Aqua 2 water softener. They have purchased the "salt" in bulk, however, unsure as to the amount to be added.

Any suggestions/tips regarding the salt?

If you mean how much salt to put into the salt tank, pour two bags in the salt tank.

If you mean the salt dosage, tell me how much resin is in the softener, or the K of capacity of the softener.

Here is a link to the manual for the Aquafine Aqua 2: http://tinyurl.com/aquafine. It indicates to use CRYSTAL or ROCK type salt.
