Hello :)

We have 5 eighty six gallon Pressure Tanks connected in parallel with a Square D 30/50 psi control switch. Should all 5 tank bladders be set at 28 psi. Would it be better to set the psi on the the first or last tank in the chain at a different psi level? Currently each tank has the psi written on it and in order starting from the LAST tank in the chain of 5 tanks the psi is : 25 -25 - 25 - 25 - 30. The pressure gauge next to the control switch reads approximately 55 psi.

Thanking You in Advance for any input on the best way to set up 5 tanks.

Only one needs to be set 2# under the cut in pressure of the switch. The pressure switch is only going to read the one with the highest setting. Setting the tanks like you have listed will be fine, as long as one, is only 2# under the cut in pressure of the switch. The others can be much lower.

If the switch you have is set at 30cut in and 50 cut off. The pressure will be 28psi on one of the tanks. The rest should be lower.

Thank You Travis.

I think the range on the control switch has been adjusted upward. By lowering the pressure in the other 4 tanks would this result in being able to store more water in those 4 pressure tanks?

With a 30/50 pressure switch, it is important that all the tanks have less than 30 PSI of air charge. The less air charge you have, the less draw down in gallons you will receive from the tanks. I don't know why anyone would use 5 tanks anymore. I only use one 86 gallon tank for an entire city, when used with a CSV.
