Water Filter

I got a sand point I use with nice good tasting water. Is it possible sand may make its way into the drinking water. I don't see any in the toilet tank but I do bring home 5 gallons jugs home. The pump will run for a long time when I am filling the containers and wondering if I am getting sand particles in the water. I was thinking of installing a clear Big Blue Water filter under the sink for trapping sand particles. I realize sand is the best filter but not when it gets into your water supply. Thanks for the help.

If you have evidence of san youcan install a sediment filter in the line. The point screen should keep 99% of it out though.
