As to going 200 amps, if you have not already scheduled the electrician, you might want to do this now. You or the electrician should notify the electric company in advance that you want to do this. They might want to come out and look first.

Then you would probably need a new meter base, etc.

Might want to ask the electrician costs for doing this now as opposed to doing it later.
 
As long as you wrap your wire nuts in insulation tape...

Out here I have heard of prices being between 10 and $15.00 per AMP for service up grades...but in D.C. the politicks may increase the price 10 fold...
