Just in the past week I have had problems with my well. I have a deep well about 150' if I remember correctly. It is a 120V and I replaced the bladder a year ago.

The symptom is it will be running fine for say 15 seconds then just stops immediately. This has happened four times since saturday so 2 days now.

It only happens for a few seconds then I turn the faucet on and it pumps fine again.

I checked the voltage and its fine.

Sounds like the thermal overload in the motor is opening up due to the pump running higher than normal amps. If you have an amp meter I would check the amperage on the pump motor by clipping the amp meter around one of the wires on the pressure switch as the pump is running and see what you get for amperage. Higher than normal and you have a pump problem. Let us know.

Seem like if it was electrical their would still be pressure in the system even if the electrical cut out momentarily. No?

Well I checked the amps and its pullin 10.3 amps which seems high to me but I am unfamiliar with these pumps.

Its struggling to get up to 40lbs while the shower is runnin. Hopefully i just need air in the tank because the pressure does seem low like it does every couple years. But, the water never just stopped before when the air was low in the tank.

The pump creates the pressure, not the tank but teh air pressure should be correct for the pressure range the pump operates at. That is 1-2 psi less than the turn the pump on setting of the switch. I.E. 30/50 gets 29-28 psi air pressure with no water in the tank.

You may have a water lea, low water level in the well or something wrong with the pump motor. To check things out..

Ok so I checked the pressure switch, I opened the valve and blew water out of the bag, filled tank with 29 psi (1lb less than kick on) and all those items were done correctly.

When I have say the shower and slop sink on the pump seems to be having problems getting up pressure. When it goes to below 20 psi the pump kicks off and I lose all pressure. Then, when the pump comes back on it is trying to pump but doesnt get any pressure. It spikes from 24 amps to 0 amps literally every two seconds. Its almost like there is a check valve blocking the water. After a minute or so the pump starts pumping normal and goes up to 52 lbs. and then cuts off.

Im at a loss here guys

I'm wondering if you have a bad electrical connection somewhere. Maybe the current isn't making it across the pressure switch cleanly, maybe a corroded contact. Maybe a loose wire nut under well cap with the wires arcing. Do you have an ohm meter, can you check the system for an electrical short. Pretty sure a Franklin 1/2 Hp 115V motor will pull 11.5 amps on a full load.
