We have just finished tiling my parents new shower & have realized that the valve was mounted too far back in the wall. We can not attach the single shower handle. Are there any solutions other than tearing the wall out & starting over? Is there such thing as an extender?

what brand and model is the shower? Most of the major brands do have an extender kit for just this situation. You won't usually find it at the depot, but a large plumbing supplier can get it.
