Actually, I quite like it. My elderly neighbors made, by hand, the entire siding of their house in the 1980s. Apparently it would cost too much to replace today.

I always thought Redwood would be far too soft to do any sort of remodeling work. :)
 
And I would have thought the Carpenter bees would have eaten it. But again, no. It is quite an amazing material.

Are they right about the cost?

A deck made of Redwood heart wood will last forever...That must mean Redwood has a heart...
