moen teardrop clear tub knob remove

help,,,,,,,,single moen tub (tear drop style) knob can't see any front cap to remove,all one pc, how is this held on?????!!! only hot water will pass thru!want to fix/replace and am held up ....whats the trick here???

Screw is under a cap which pries off with a small knife.

It is NOT one piece. the front pries off to reveal the screw. WHat you have to do to fix the valve, however, depends on which Moen valve you have. If it is a MoenTrol, you need a new balancing spool. If it is a PosiTemp you need a new cartridge.
