Repair or Replace Freeze Damaged Baseboard?

Hi, I have encountered some baseboard that has a few bursts from freezing. What cost per foot should I expect to pay for 3/4" fin tube?
I'm wondering if it's cheaper to fix or replace

Repairing it would cost less, however there is no way to really repair it.

The best you can do is cut out the burst spots and add couplers. This would reduce the amount of fins, but would get it going again.

The cores are fairly inexpensive, or at least were last time I looked.

I called a local lumber yard today and a 8' section with cover is $70. I'm wondering if I can get that for less at the plumbing supply store w/out cover.
Also, Is it generally M copper in those? It seems awfully soft.
