Installing a Timer

Hello, I have a pump start relay that requires me to manually turn the switch on and off to start my sprinkler system. I wanted to put my pump on a timer but I am unsure about how i can do this. Also, which timers would you recommend me using? Thanks

Need more details. If the existing relay has a line-voltage coil, it won't easily interface with modern controllers.
