Gate Valve under Sink for Outside water

How do you guys not have bad backs doing this stuff for a living..?

If you are passionate about plumbing you will not notice the bad back until you go to bed.

It takes a very generous man to give this type of work to a helper. But I guess, if live has been good to you then hand it down eh?

This is an awesome thread! lmao :D

Yea to me too! And i'm not even a plumber ! But after you guys pointed all the goofs up I get a kick out of this...Aren't you glad that there are such agressive diy's like me to bring such joy to you life...

You're right.. It's good to enjoy your work. I can see how what you guys do for a living gives a satisfaction as a payoff after putting together a working network of pipes or fixing somoene's woes or worries...I get just a very small taste of that if I am able to tackle something around the house to fix - I think working with your hands is a great way of living. When I do any computer workstation fixing and I am in the guts of a PC, albeit just some screwdrivers and screws, I find it relaxing to work on the task - something about working and being able to think of things far from the task at hand is good. Not sure if you know what I mean - all part of being focused.

I swapped out the bathroom faucet a few months ago and had to crawl into a very small vanity sink to do it. I suffer from lower back pain at the tailbone from doing that kind of work - muscles I guess I don't use enough. I love to do that stuff more often, but I suffer too much from simple tasks like that. One of the bigger reasons I'd rather pay a pro to come swap out my valve for a new one - to know it's done right, and to pay the guy who has to feel the pain when he goes to bed, as you say....

What pain when we go to bed?

ask Ian, i was just following on what he said.

physical, from being under sinks and crawling around in tight spaces, etc.

I said I suffer pain from working in different positions I think he meant at the end of the day his back might feel stiff.

thats what i took from his reply...
