I have a 40gal WellMate pressure tank, on top there is a small plastic cup with what looks like a tire valve. The cup keeps filling with water. I clean it out and dry it, next morning its there again. Tank came with the house, The whole system seems to be working fine, good water pressure at all faucets. And the cup never seems to overflow, just about 1/4inch all the time. What does this mean. Is it time to replace the tank.

Thanks for the info, guess its time for a new tank.
Is wellmate a good brand, what features if any should I be looking for in a pressure tank.

When installing any new tank, check the valve stem for tightness and then check for the correct air pressure after the tank has sat for some time to allow for temp equalization from being hot in the sun/freezing etc., in the location you are installing it in; adjust as needed.

After filling with water and watching the water pressure gauge, drain it and check/adjust the air pressure again and then adjust the switch settings as you fill and refill it.

Well Rite is a good tank. Made by Flexcon. It and the Well X Trol are equal quality. All others in my opinion are sub standard.
