We are in the process of installing a sink vanity and the manufacturer's directions say to use a latex caulk. Is it okay to use silicone instead?

Thanks.

use the latex....

if you use DAP or latex caulk you will be fine.....

if you use the silicone caulk, then you are pernamently
installing that sink, because the silicone will never allow
you take that sink out ever again is is in for good and will
have to be broken to get it back out.......

you only have to make this mistake once.....

Let's just put something out there.

Latex definitely to sit a sink on a vanity or to seal the gap against the wall but I would only use silicon to seat the drain against the sink.

I used latex on my utility sink drain and it developed a leak. I redid it with silicone and now the leak has gone.

Plumbers Putty works well for setting drains.
I do not advocate gluing things in with Silicone RTV.
