I just installed a new foot vale and 2 set's of line 100 foot deep to a 1/2hp deep well pump Cut in and out are set at 40/60 when I first cut the water spiket on there is great pressure the it falls off the PSI holds at about 50 when the pressure or flow slows. all I have hooked to it is 2 water sprinklers and when they both are running the height of the water spray is about 5 foot high. What can I do? If I need to buy a better pump I will but I want water to fly out real good when turned on I worry when I build a house there I wount have enough water comming in to even shower if it acts likr this now with just water sprinklers hooked to it. It is running off 110 outlet if that helps  Please send a e-mail to me at shotzie988@aol.com I'm not sure when I will get back to this site to check it

Your installed two sets of 100' of what hooked to what?'

Where is your water level in this well, what is the diameter of the well and is this for home use as well as sprinklers?

Is the pump a two line jet pump or did you use one 100' down the well to a submersible pump and then the other 100' from the well to the .... sprinklers or what?

Is the pump supposed to use 120 or 230 vac?

And I hope you come back to read the replies because I don't believe in private email because then others can't learn from your experience. And IMO you shouldn't post if you only want private repilies BUT, you can turn on Instant email of replies to your posts. I think you do that in your User CP up there on the left of the top banner.

Well pump info

I thought I said everything in the first post. 2 new lines 100 feet deep size 1 1/4 and size 1 inch. New foot val well is 110 feet deep hit water line at 39 feet down that means there is 70 feet on water in the well. It is a 6 inch drilled well and I have a 30 Inch bored well next to it out the top of the pump no line is ran to house just to a spiket where I hooked up water hose it is a deep weel pump above ground ran off 110 outlet :o

Had you said everything in the first post, two of us wouldn't be asking for more info... and how can you think that when you can't find the cause of your problem...

So I see a two line deep well jet pump, is the jet and nozzle matched to the pump or did you replace a pump etc.?

I don't think the 1/2 hp pump is big enough, how long are the two hoses to the sprinklers? Do you control the pump with a pressure tank? What pressure range are you running the pump at?

Has this set up ever worked right or is this new construction?

Where in the well is the foot valve, at 110'? If so that's too deep and it may cause the inlet screen on the foot valve to be blocked by sediment etc..

You also said you installed a new foot valve. You never mentioned a jet. Which is what the two pipes would hook to if done right.

For the life of me, I don't know why anyone would use a two pipe jet when they have a well plenty large enought to install a submersible pump.

If you did install a new foot valve, what did it attach to? And since I think the answer is going to be a jet, (injector) was it supplied with the pump and set up to work with the pump?

Lost

I dont know the answers to your questions I payed a guy $80.00 for the well pump and new line and new foot vl and he installed it. It was hooked to the home he lived in before on the same lot before the house was torn down. As for the hose they are about 75 and 100 foot long. How hard would it be for me to just buy a new sub pump and install it myself? Now it is just about 7 gal a min flow I would like 15 or more so when I build a new home I will have good water pressure to take a shower with. I hope you can tell me what I need and how hard it would be for me to install it. Also there is no storage tank there just line pump and a small bladder the straight to the water hose

If he put the j-body deeper than it was installed before, then that is part of the problem. A jet pump, or submersible is sized for the well and the house it serves (gpm needed) including the pressure you want to run the system at, and the elevation to the highest fixture. Without those figures, no one can tell you what pump yo uneed and certainly not the cost.

Installing a submersible pump isn't all that hard but you do have to know how to do it and what will cause you to have a bad day if you've never done it before. But if you'll read and follow instructions, it's quite simple if yer handy as opposed to good lookin' and have a couple decent sized wrenches.

Very true, however putting the jet deeper wouldn't make any difference other than friction loss. The pump and jet combination are only pulling from the evevation of the water in the well, not the jet's depth.

In today's world, I wouldn't install anything less than a 1hp pump on any deep well setup. People just use too much water for a little 1/2hp pump. Especially on a two pipe jet, which is the least efficient of all the deep well systems out there. Besides if a sub will fit, that's what's going in. It just makes better sense all the way around.
