Fernco non-wax unit to set toilet

Have any of you used the fernco non-wax unit for setting a new toilet.
If this works it looks like it could be used when the flange is lower than it should be after tiling. Thanks

I did once after being talked into it by the guy at the supply house.
I had a calback on that job and I'll never try that again!

I use wax rings!

I have two in my house...they've been fine. If the insides of the pipe are not quite clean, it may not be a great idea as I don't think it would seal properly. Otherwise, they should be fine. A flange extender and a wax ring is probably cheaper. I chose them because during the remodel, I needed to remove and reinstall the toilets...it was cleaner and quicker.
