Hi - We had a plastic water line break in my condo's ceiling last week causing major damage. It's a 2 level townhouse with an apartment underneath. It was built around 1985 with that plastic poly pipe that is illegal now. Some of the ceiling came down, so a fair amount of the pipes are now exposed. We see no sense in closing it all up again when it could happen again any day (this is our 3rd pipe break).

I'd appreciate any thoughts on re-piping the whole house...
Is copper the best?
Anything we should ask a plumbing company when we get estimates?
Will our homeowners insurance pay for the re-pipe?
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
Donk

I would repipe with PEX. It will be minimally invasive compared to running copper. You will be paying for it!
You have missed out on being part of the class action lawsuit settlement.

You need check with your insureance adjuster they might pay for the
repairs to your drywall but probily not the plumbing.
