Yes, this house has all copper sewer lines. I need to find a 3'" closet flange in copper.

Are they out there?

hard to find

I appreciate the feedback.. I could cut pipe and transition to ABS, but that requires a hole in ceiling. It would be easier to sweat a new 3" flange.

Plumbing supply has never heard of 3' flange in copper

I know they have them in brass....i have one sitting in the workshop..

seems like copper would be too soft for a flange

Yes, they are available in copper.
At least there was at one time, A stock photo of an old home.

Go with the brass if they have a choice, cheaper and sturdier. Copper solders to brass just as well as it does to copper.
Just be sure they don't give you a brass flange for a lead bend.

I have a copper flange out in the shop in case I ever need it, which is unlikely. The biggest problem with an existing house is the danger of using a torch in a confined space. It's easier to cut something off and adapt to plastic.
