I gave up on trying to put down an additional wellpoint to increase volume for a home irrigation system. I hired a well man to come out and do the work figuring he would know what he is doing.

The previous wells that are about 25 years old and as best I can remember were down at about the 15' level but maybe I don't remember so well. The well guy put casing down to 30' and was never able to pump water from a well point through the casing. He was getting very fine grained sand that was soaking up alot of the water being jetted in and not enough was coming back to the surface to wash the sand out. He finally gave up. So now I have another casing to nowhere and no water except in the original two wells.

Anyone have any thoughts as to whether I should pursue this further or just forget it? I would really like to get more water so I can adequately water my yard but I am not interested in drilling a deep well for $3600.

Thanks, Paul

I don't know where you are located Paul, but everywhere you go it is different. Surface water is what you are looking for. Your so called well man was probably a weekend warrior and did not know about actual well drilling. If you call a licensed water well driller, he will come in with a drilling rig and put you in a real well. Nobody said it would be cheap, but when he is done, you should have an adequate amount of water to do your irrigating. Surface water wells do not always provide the water needed to run a system like you have and the fine sand would be one reason why.
