Hi there,

Can anyone tell me if I'm ok putting the tub vent 5 feet away from the trap?
I tried to show my layout in the attached diagram, I hope it makes sense.

Basically I'm tapping the tub drain into the sink's drain line and running a vent up the shower wall, but it's more than 3 feet from the trap which is what I read is the minimum distance it should be.

Will this be acceptable ventilation, or should I find a way of putting the tub vent closer to the tub trap?

Thanks for your help with this.
