Hello! We recently replaced our old cast iron bathrub with a new soaking tub. All of the water lines were replaced and a new faucet was installed.

It's been about 2 1/2 weeks now and every time I turn the bath water on, a considerable amount of rust-colored water comes out before it comes clear. This rust-colored water is also dripping and I'm afraid it will stain my new tub.

Is this something that will just take time for the pipes to run clear or is something wrong?

Thank in advance for your help!

May be someone used a galvanized nipple somewhere on the spout or the shower riser.

When you say all the water lines were replaced do you mean in the whole house?

How long does the water run rusty B4 it clears?

If all the lines in the house have been replace it may be rust build up in the water heater.

Try turning on just the cold and see what you get then turn on just the hot and see what you get.
