Hello,

I set ceramic tile yesterday on top of concrete in our basement washroom. The surface of the floor tile is now flush with the top surface of the ABS toilet closet flange.

Local HD carries a closet flange extender kit with 1/4" and 1/2" thickness extenders for $12. I measured the thickness of a new ABS closet flange today - it measures exactly 3/8".

Did a quick search on the internet and could not find extenders that are 3/8" thick.

Should I install the 1/4" or the 1/2"? Why?

Thanks in advance for your response. :)

Since the top of the flange is even with the finish floor, I think I would use an extra thick wax rather than a flange extender.

Thanks Deb. :) Found a Fluidmaster wax extender kit No.35B today at HD that claims it is good for 1/4" to 1" below finished floor. I will try that.
