DWV - PVC vs. Tubular Brass

Is PVC more *reliable* - leakproof prone, etc than tubular brass for DWV for under the kitchen sink ? Talking Schedule 40 fittings .....not the thin plastic stuff.

Or it's all the same as long as it's installed properly....
I know the tubular brass does not have the beveled ends whereas the thin plastic does. Or schedule 40 where it's primarily solid joints...

You can use PVC schedule 40 pipe but you need to use DWV fittings because they are made to accommodate the flow characteristics of drains.
