I had to do a soft coiled 1/2" copper run that went into a cast copper fdrop elbow. For some reason, it felt like there was a little play when the copper went into the fitting so I just sweated till solder just oozed out of the fitting and then some.
For you pros out there, what's the trick to getting a nice clean sweat between copper. I usually do the wipe with a dry towel or wipe with fluz after sweating and wipe with paper towel method.
The pro's seem to get it so that's it's puuurfect !
FWIW, I had my boiler replaced last weekend and I was surprised on the plumbers work......sweats were all drippy with globs of solder everywhere....
