I replaced my garbage disposal and the one problem I'm having is re-attatching the P-Trap. No matter how I adjust it there seems to be a leak at the line going in from the disposal. The pipe coming out of the disposal is the same length as the old one. I am using the existing P-Trap and had to replace one of the nuts and washers. After several tries and no luck I knew that I could get the answer here.

The new disposer should have had a new washer where the pipe connects there.

Most of us, throw away the old trap and fittings at this point and use all new stuff.

Parts are cheap, labor isn't.

leak

If you replaced the washers with the proper ones, you may have to be a little creative to stop the leak. keep practicing till you get it to stop.
