Hand tighten or with wrench

When installing brass bath drains (where the overflow ell, tube and drain ells connect), do you hand tighten the nuts or hand tighten plus X turns with the wrench? These are the brass nuts with plastic gaskets.

I think you can overtighten, but I'd hand tighten then just maybe a 1/4 turn with a wrench or channel locks. More "snugging" than tightening.
