I am remodeling a 32 x 42 shower enclosure by removing the terazzo base and would like to tile the floor / walls. The enclosure is on a concrete slab with a centered drain. Based on what I have read, it seems straight forward, but I am getting some fairly 'high' estimates. Can someone run me through what needs to be done and what level of effort (hours) required?

We recently did a base for a customer

charged him about $ 2300 to tear out the base,

install a new drain, install a rubber membrane,

install concrete to the drain,

install the floor tile,

installa bout 5 rows up on the shower walls...

what kind of prices are you getting anyway????

Quotes are $3500 - $4000 in the DC area...Similar situation where we will get a few rows of tile up the wall and base done...But I have prep'ed (taken out the terazzo), and am down to the concrete floor.
