Water is leaking out of the hole where the water supply pipe
goes through the foundation.
I'm not sure if this belongs in the plumbing section or not,
but it does concern the water supply pipe coming into my
house from the street.
My water supply pipe (from the street) comes through
a poured cement foundation about 4 feet down from ground level.
Its a black plastic pipe.
Anyway, the pipe itself is not leaking, ground water from the
rain is coming into the house where the supply pipe
comes through teh foundation.
This is the first time it has ever leaked at this spot in the 14 years
i have lived here. I am almost certain it is because
of large amount of rain we have received in the last week or so.
I live half way between Baltimore and Philadelphia.
It appears as if they drilled the hole in the foundation to lareg and packed
it with hydraulic cement to seal it.
A piece of this cement underneath the pipe has broken loose
and this is where the water is leaking in. Luckily there is only a small
stream coming down the wall and into a french drain.
The hole where the water is coming in is about the size of a pencil
and the rest of the cement around the area appears to be solid.
I haven't found any loose cement.
I would like to plug this hole.
I plan on just using hydraulic cement to do it.
If anyone has any advice/tips etc. please post them.
